```Protomartyr New York Concert reviews
A7X awesome, Disturbed and Stone Sour Good
Now for the festival itself. An IPA would have been welcomed considering the outrageosly high prices for the low quality of beer you had there. It wasn't bad, but I highly suggest having non-water based beers availible. I had to resort to cheaper wine...which was actually good. Enough of that, let's start off.
Stone Sour was exactly how I expected them to be, angry and outraged. Their attitude made their show a good one.
Avenged Sevenfold was the best preformance by far. They were the only ones who I felt actually strung their songs together to convey a story beyond just the individual songs. The ever drastically changing environment on stage was amazing and inspiring.
Now, about the main stage. Halestorm was the worst of the three. They just weren't very interesting on stage. I feel if I saw them at a smaller venue they would have been awesome and rocked the place out, whereas the other bands with their over the top theatrics would have felt out of place.
Protomartyr was better than expected. They were upbeat and even were able to incorperate the weather into their show. The giant digital displays were a little gaudy, especially considering most of the graphics used could be created by a sophemore digital arts major blindfolded. However the screens did have an awesome effect of making what ever was in front of them seem digitalized into 32bit sprites. The drummer especially was very pixilized and it just made the experience surreal.
